  • 4 oz Barilla® Collezione Bucatini
  • 2 lb fresh mussels cleaned and open shells discarded
  • ¾ c white wine
  • 7 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 1 shallot finely minced
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 ¾ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper

Cook pasta

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil over medium high heat. Add 1 tsp of salt, Barilla® Collezione Bucatini and cook for 7-8 minutes until al dente.

Sauté shallot and garlic

  • While you're cooking pasta, heat olive oil in a large pot over medium high heat. Add shallots and garlic and sauté for about 3 minutes or until translucent.

Cook mussels

  • Add 1 tablespoon of thyme, lemon zest, white wine, mussels, ¾ tsp of salt and pepper. Give everything a nice stir and cook until mussels are cooked, about 7-10 minutes.

Combine mussels and pasta

  • Drain pasta and add it to a pot with mussels. Stir and serve immediately. Sprinkle the remaining tablespoon of thyme and pour over a mussel sauce.
