Food is a funny thing. There are some dishes that everyone loves, but there are always people who hate them. What one person finds delicious, another person might find disgusting.
A recent thread on a popular social platform asked people to share the worst foods that they love that everyone else hates. Here are some of the top responses:
Sardines

One foodie commented: “Everyone I know thinks sardines in a can are disgusting and don’t understand how I can eat them—but I love them, even crunching and chewing their little backbones in my mouth is an added and unexpected delight!”
Blue Cheese
One foodie shared: “In my family it’s blue cheese and goat cheese. I love them but nobody else does.” Another added: “Chunks of blue cheese on pizza is so good!” While most didn’t enjoy just eating it on its own, many agreed that when used as a topping, it added so much flavor to the dish.
Blood Sausage (Black Pudding)
A foodie commented: “Its basically just a spiced pork fat sausage with some blood in it. But pretty much any meat is going to have blood in it right? Slice it up, fry it, then serve it on buttered white bread. I don't eat it very often but I love it.”
Another commenter chimed in: "Black pudding is a must with a full English breakfast. In Scottish chip shops the pudding is battered and deep fried. There are a lot of regional variations but the Scottish ones are the best."
Anchovies
One foodie shared: “Anchovies. Everybody I know absolutely hates them, but I don't care. I just like them.” Even people who didn’t love them still felt like they really elevated dishes: “I'm not a huge anchovies guy, but man do they really sell a Caesar salad. Yummy yummy.”
Spinach
While some users claimed that only toddlers hated spinach, one user commented: “I can eat it in a dip or raw in a salad, but canned spinach like Popeye ate, yuk.” While many didn’t want to eat it raw or on its own, they didn’t care if it found its way into a salad or dip.
Sauerkraut
One foodie shared: “I frickin love sour kraut which most adults I know tend to enjoy but my peers aren’t big fans.” Many users agreed that this is one of their favorite ways to top a hot dog or add to a dish for extra flavor: “Sauerkraut with bacon and beans is a nice morning snack.”
Candy Corn
Many users agreed that this was some of their favorite candy to munch on and even added marshmallow peanuts into the mix too! One foodie shared: “Love them when they get chewy.”
Brussel Sprouts
One foodie shared: “Brussel sprouts. Cover them in olive oil, salt, and pepper and roast them in the oven.” One user shared a way to make them that gave them a “fancy glow up”: “I keep bags of them in the freezer and toss them with some oil and cajun seasoning then pop them in the air fryer for like 10 minutes from frozen until they are crisp outside, then eat the whole giant bowl with my fingers.”
Cottage Cheese
A user commented: "I've seen a lot of people hate on cottage cheese but I love it. Bigger the curds, the better." Another Redditor added: "I eat it plain, but also love it with ketchup. My wife thinks I'm disgusting."
