One traveler shared: "I completely adopted the UKs twinings tea with biscuits. It’s my favorite snack between or after a meal."
While another commenter expressed: "Walker's Prawn Cocktail chips--best flavor ever, I love them. I actually order them in bulk now."
One traveler reminisces: "Slightly stale bread (rye rusk is traditional) topped with feta, myzithra cheese, EVOO, mashed tomatoes, capers and oregano. The olive oil softens the bread and it’s just amazing. Think: Greek bruschetta. So delicious and worth finding your local Greek market for imported cheeses stored in brine. We now celebrate “Dakos Tuesday”
One user shared their experience of trying snake wine in Vietnam, saying, "The flavor was weirdly sweet, but also very strong, and it left a strange aftertaste in my mouth. I'm glad I tried it, but I wouldn't rush to have it again."
"In Vietnam, I had this dessert (forget the name) that consisted of fruit/ avocado in condensed milk with ice. It was so so yummy, I’ve tried to recreate it a few times, but it’s not as good," - one person shared.
"I fell in love with Kaya spread from Singapore! I love it on toast." - one Redditor noticed.
While another commenter chimed in: "Somehow, you manage not to eat kaya straight from a spoon? How do you restrain yourself?"
One of the travelers shared: - "I had this pita dish in turkey where they pour hot tomato sauce on chopped up, thick pieces of pita, then douse it in piping hot melted butter and serve it to you with meat and yogurt, I could eat that every single day, but thankfully for my health, it’s hard to find pita like that unless I go to the Turkish market and makes too many dishes so I get lazy."
Another user added: "so many desserts, not just baklava, eggplant pureed, stuffed, grilled, baked; Ayran to drink."
"Korean Bibimbap is a super easy go-to meal for me. Anytime I have a variety of veggies and some kind of protein on hand, I’ll cook up some rice and throw it all on top along with gochujang. So yummy." - one user expressed.
Another adventurous eater recounted their experience eating grasshoppers in Mexico, saying, "I was a little hesitant at first, but they were pretty tasty! They were crispy and had a nutty flavor. I would have them again."
One user added: "Mexico just made me fall in love with beans, I collected so many recipes and now I am great at cooking beans. Also a drink from Villahermosa that was unsweetened chocolate, mixed with water and almond meal simple but really tasty."
"I already loved Greek yogurt, but I discovered Briam with Kasseri cheese, kalamata olives with lemon, and cappuccino freddo" - one traveler confessed.
One Redditor shared, "we went to Scotland last year and also fell in love with haggis. We order it from Scottish Gourmet in the US and it’s pretty close to the “real thing”! My boyfriend makes a mean haggis shepherds pie - highly recommend and let me know if you’d like the basic recipe :)"
One traveler shared: "I tried reindeer meat in Norway, and it was one of the best things I've ever eaten. It was so tender and flavorful. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the country."
Travelers love Tapatio Hot Sauce, with one commenter sharing: "Yes!! Love Tapatio. Put on almost anything!" While another added: "I bring this as a gift to my European friends when I visit! They love it."
One person shared that after visiting Germany, he eats currywurst almost weekly.
One reader commented: "Fattoush and tabbouleh, now I make both at home by the liter."
While another added: "Shakshuka - a Saturday breakfast ritual now"
"Stroopwafels!! Nothing beats the fresh made ones in the Netherlands but I still grab them anytime I find them in a store in the US." - one person expressed.
While the others were quick to note that they loved "mayo on French fries and also mayo on everything."
One commenter shared - "Chicken hearts. I had to look for a bravo super maker, but I just bought chicken hearts alone in bulk without the gizzards. It is one of my favorite dishes to make. Though no one in the family will eat them still because they find them revolting. It is some of the best-tasting meat around as long as you don’t overcook them."
Another user shared - "I like making okonomiyaki from time to time (Japanese savoury pancakes). It's a good meal to use up cabbage and you can put different proteins in to suit what you've got. Tasty as heck."
