Hello my friends!
How are you all doing? I hope all is well!
It's that time of the year when we all enter the spirit of competition and everyone is preparing for the Big Game Day. Regardless of whether you are supporting your favorite team or just want to join your friends in cheering for their team of choice, I got you covered with some great snack options and a super delicious SNICKERS® cupcakes recipe. Be confident, this decadent dessert will make your Big Game Day - a party to remember.
Okay, before we get down to business, here's a little bit of the bonus.
Would you like to win $100 Walmart eGift card or Xbox One?
First, check out all the amazing Snack Stadiums that our fellow bloggers have created. Go ahead and vote for your favorite Snack Stadium. When you vote, you'll automatically be entered to win a prize.
And if you get in a creative mode and make a Snack Stadium too, it would be awesome if you share it on Instagram using the hashtag: #gamedayglorysweepstakes.
Now, on to the party.
To help you decide what products to stock up on, here's what I suggest.
Start off with making a list of necessary products for a Big Game Day and head to the nearest Walmart.
First, we need some crunchy bites. All time favorite party snacks include TOSTITOS® Scoops Party Size. It is a great crispy snack option for a Big Game Day. For my party, I bought Scoops, because you can easily fill them in with a stuffing of your choice and make an extra cool appetizer. If you are not planning to make any additional appetizers, not a problem. Because with TOSTITOS® Medium Chunky Salsa, you will add a new texture and tangy tomato flavor to your crunchy TOSTITOS® bite.
Second must-haves are beverages. For my party I chose Pepsi™ 12 pack, a drink that every appetizer tastes great with.
If at any time during your party, you feel like having something sweet and chewy before the main dessert, I suggest Skittles® XL 41 oz.
Now, on to something special. To turn any Game Day into a fun and delicious event, I prepared a unique dessert that you and your friends will fall in love with. It is my SNICKERS® Cupcakes; chocolaty on the inside, creamy, and extremely flavorful on the outside.
I created a step-by-step tutorial to help easily create this masterpiece yourself. So, are you ready?
Before you start preparing a batter for our cupcakes, make sure that the butter and eggs are at room temperature. You can either use a hand or standing blender to mix the ingredients. I started working with a hand mixer, but at the end it was easier for me to work with a whisk.
What I particularly like about the frosting is that it's not overly sweet. Given that later in the process, we're adding a caramel sauce and crumbled SNICKERS® bars, the tastes of the ingredients beautifully balance each other, creating a nice, crispy and tangy bite.
The most fun part is assembling the cupcakes. Use a small sharp knife to carefully cut the small holes out of cupcakes. Remove the top but don't discard it. You'll need it later on.
My favorite thing about this recipe is the caramel and SNICKERS® filling. It gives the cupcake the necessary moisture and incredible taste, that you can't help but fall in love with.
Here's the option with a caramel sauce and chopped SNICKERS® bar on top.
And here's another cool option with a green candy shred.
Now, with the great snacks on hands and one delicious dessert to remember, I'm all prepared for the Big Game Day.
With some additional football theme decorations, no one could deny, that the party is gonna be a blast.
Recipe
Ingredients
For the cupcake batter:
- 150 grams butter softened
- 120 grams brown sugar
- 2 eggs + 1 egg yolk at room temperature
- 220 grams flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 100 ml milk of room temperature
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 50 grams dark chocolate melted
For the frosting:
- 60 grams butter softened to room temperature
- 50 grams confectioners sugar
- 170 grams cream cheese
For the caramel sauce (makes about 1 ½ cup):
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup of heavy whipping cream
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For border garnish (optional step)
- Milk chocolate flakes
- Green candy shred
Instructions
Cupcake batter:
- Preheat the oven to 355 F.
- With a hand or standing mixer, beat together butter and sugar for about 4-5 minutes until the mixture turns creamy. With the mixer running, add eggs one at a time and an egg yolk.
- In a medium bowl, sift the flour and add baking powder. Whisk it together.
- Combine flour with a butter and sugar mixture and mix well until smooth.
- Add milk, cocoa powder and melted chocolate (should not be hot). Mix all the ingredients.
- Line 2 muffin tins with cupcake liners and fill each cup ⅔ full.
- Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and let the cupcakes cool completely.
Frosting:
- In a large bowl, beat together butter and confectioners sugar.
- Add cream cheese, one tablespoon at a time. Mix everything until the frosting is nice and smooth.
Caramel sauce:
- In a small sauce pan, combine brown sugar, butter, vanilla extract, salt and heavy whipping cream. Cook on a medium low heat until all sugar dissolves. Then, reduce the heat to low and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the sauce starts to thicken. Remove from the heat and let it cool slightly.
- (You can store the leftovers of the sauce in an air tight container in a refrigerator). It should last for about a month.
To assemble:
- With a small sharp knife, cut a cone shaped hole out of the top of each cupcake. Fill each hole with ½ teaspoon of caramel sauce, crumbled SNICKERS® and another ½ teaspoon of caramel. Cover with a cupcake top.
- If you want an extra garnish for border, which is an optional step, remove the cupcakes from the liners. Lightly brush the borders with water and dip the cupcake into chocolate sprinkles.
- Fill the pastry bag with a frosting and evenly pipe frosting onto the cupcakes in one big swirl.
- At this point, you can sprinkle the cupcake with green candy shred or continue on to the next step.
- Drizzle a cupcake with caramel sauce and garnish with chopped SNICKERS® bars. (If caramel sauce started to get too thick, warm it briefly in a microwave until it's soft and easy to work with).

These cupcakes look absolutely amazing. I'm not much of a baker, but if I were, I would definitely make these. Unfortunately whenever I try to make cupcakes from scratch I fail miserably LOL.

Thanks Allison! I think everyone who tries himself in cooking/baking, has moments of the "first pancake". 🙂 But over time it gets better and you'll be amazed what masterpieces you can create.
