We all have that one dish that people just can’t get enough of! Perhaps it’s something you bring to parties or just a secret family recipe you share with others. A user on a popular internet forum asked: “What is your signature snack that people always expect you to bring to a gathering?” sparking a lively debate about what foods others were famous for bringing.
Here are the top responses.
Bean Dip

Bean dip is a popular party food enjoyed at everything from game day tailgates to parties. One foodie shared: “I make an absolutely killer bean dip. The secret is cooking and frying the beans yourself for fresh refried beans. Add lots of fresh garlic. OMG. I also make the pico de gallo myself.”
Homemade Chex Mix
When you think of Chex Mix a bag from a grocery store shelf might come to mind. However, you can actually make your own! One foodie shared: “No matter how much of this I make, or who the crowd is, there's never a crumb left. It's universally loved.”
Kisir
A nostalgic food from many people’s childhood, this is a popular “salad” type dish enjoyed in Europe. One foodie shared: “Kısır which is a Turkish "salad" or sugar coated almonds, "gebrannte Mandeln" in German.”
Cheesecake
When it comes to cakes, cheesecake is always a hit! One foodie shared: “Maple Syrup cheesecake bites with a chocolate base. I do them for coworkers birthdays too, always a hit.”
Potato Salad and Stuffed Eggs
While both call for similar ingredients, many foodies agreed that the right mixture is what made these dishes so popular. One foodie shared: “There’s something about the way you make the eggs or ratio mayo to mustard. I don’t know what it is but people rave about my mom’s stuffed eggs, and she doesn’t really do anything special. Her potato salad is also a bomb and one trick she does is cook the potatoes, lightly douse them in vinegar, leave overnight, and assemble with the dressing and add-ins the next morning.”
Ham Roll-Ups
Sometimes, in simplicity, you find the best recipes! This one is no exception! One foodie shared: “Ham roll-ups. Just ham, cream cheese, and pickle.”
Stuffed Mushrooms
While most foodies find this to be an elegant appetizer, one foodie shared her recipe for an insanely easy snack with the option for leftovers: “Leek and gruyere stuffed mushrooms. Funny too cuz they’re so simple!!
Hmm, no real measurements here, but sauté some leeks (and shallot and garlic if you want, but not necessary) in butter and add a little salt, pepper, and herbs de Provence. Once they’re soft, add some heavy cream and some gruyere until it makes a sort of thick mixture. Spoon it into the mushrooms, top with panko breadcrumbs, and bake at 400 for about 20 minutes!
I always end up with an extra leek/cheese mixture. I just threw it on some pasta the next day! Yum!”
