Serves: 2
  • 4 ounces Barilla® Collezione Bucatini, uncooked
  • 2 pounds fresh mussels, cleaned and open shells discarded
  • ¾ white wine
  • 7 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 shallot, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil over medium high heat. Add Barilla® Collezione Bucatini and cook for 7-8 minutes until al dente.
  2. While you're cooking pasta, heat olive oil in a large pot over medium high heat.
  3. Add shallots and garlic and sauté for about 3 minutes until translucent. Add 1 tablespoon of thyme, lemon zest, white wine, mussels, salt and pepper. Give everything a nice stir and cook until mussels are cooked, about 7-10 minutes.
  4. Drain pasta and transfer it into the mussels. Stir and serve immediately.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining tablespoon of thyme and pour over a mussel sauce.
