A couple weeks ago me and my family had a wonderful vacation in Lake Geneva. If you live on the Midwest and haven’t been to Lake Geneva, I highly recommend you checking that place out. It’s cozy and beautiful resort and I guarantee, you will definitely love it!
I feel like after having a second child I became more laid back than after my first. I was so tired and stressed that I couldn’t even imagine going on vacation when my first daughter was just 2 months old.
This time however, I didn’t want to miss the precious moments of summer and a family getaway was a perfect way to change the scenery, recharge and just have a good quality family time.
Lake Geneva, WI has always been me and my husband’s favorite Midwestern vacation spot. When we were living in Chicago and whenever we had free time, Lake Geneva became our foolproof weekend destination.
This year, however, we decided that its time to enjoy all benefits of such a nice resort and organize a family vacation there.
Since we had lots of people, we decided that it’s best to rent a house via HomeAway. My mother-in-law is not a stranger to renting apartments online so she was the one to recommend them.
After many hours of flipping though the available listings, we found a perfect house in Williams Bay that was able to accommodate all of our needs.
When we arrived there, we immediately felt like at home. The entire house was made of wood which automatically adds that feeling of comfort and warmth.
We had one large master bedroom on the second floor and 3 bedrooms on the first floor, with big kitchen and huge living room.
The house was really big, everyone had his own spot.
Porch was a center of our daily relaxation. Whenever we were home and when it wasn’t too hot outside, we would sit on a totally laid back porch enjoying the sounds of cicadas and sipping on a glass of wine. Total chill!
Despite being a regular traveler to Lake Geneva, it was first time that we swam there. I have to tell you, the water in the lake is amazing. We were there in the beginning of August, the water was super warm and the beaches were nice and clean. What else can you wish for?
There are lots of water activities available. This time, we tried paddle boarding and I absolutely loved it. I was tired after it, could hardly walk. That was definitely a total body workout.
Lake Geneva has this unique spirit of vacation. Once you get there, you automatically shift your mind to a vacation mode.
There are lots of trails and parks to take a walk and enjoy beautiful views.
Have you been to Lake Geneva before? What do you love most about it?
